Hopefully, you have learned about the Great Depression, racism, prejudice and poverty in the South in the 1930's. Think about what life was like then, and how much our society has progressed in these areas since the setting of To Kill a Mockingbird. What areas of life have improved? What areas still need to change? What can you do to change things in society that are unfair?
